September 13, 2023, City Council, Item 8G - The agenda item recommended contracting $20M for Leucadia Streetscape (Segment C) surface improvements and $4M in Leucadia Flood Drain installation beneath. Unfortunately, there was only enough drain money to install pipe under 35% of the project. Bruce insisted that staff investigate plans to minimize Streetscape rework costs. Putting the drain in simultaneously was not the initial plan, but it is now. Had this moved forward unaltered then several million dollars would have been wasted. August 10, 2024 - Mayoral Forum/Debate #2 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Parish Hall - The League of Women Voters North County San Diego moderated an Encinitas Mayoral forum. Many of my supporters attended and everyone asked great questions. Many people found the exchange very informative. The differences between Tony and me were clearly delineated. September 17, 2024 - Mayoral Debate/Forum #1 at Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA, Ada Harris School Auditorium. Encinitas Mayoral Candidates Bruce Ehlers and Tony Kranz took part in an Election Forum sponsored the Cardiff Town Council Committee of Cardiff 101 Main Street.
August 28, 2024 - Encinitas City Council Chambers - Agenda Item #12A - Bruce Ehlers supports keeping "L-7" (City owned property at 634 Quail Gardens Dr) as park land. It was purchased with park funds for "park use" in 1998. Bruce states: "I remain to be the only Council member here who has consistently voted for L-7 to remain a park." Watch The Video Here
